2. Read the passage and answer the following question.
According to the United States Centers of Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia, everybody who is at least six months old should get a flu shot this year. This recommendation was first made last year. The AARP Bulletin reports that a vaccine called Fluzone High-Dose is now available, designed especially for people aged 65 years and older. Because older people produce less robust immune responses than younger people, scientists have produced this vaccine to give them better protection against the influenza virus. This is important because cases of the flu can involve very serious complications for older persons.

[A]. There is now a special high-dose flu shot just for older people.[B]. Everyone over six months old should get a flu shot this year.

Even I think the answer is C
Reason:
” people aged 65 years and older. Because older people produce less robust immune responses than younger people, “
The paragraph is about higher-dose flu shot, it is not about older people
Yes, the word “especially” in the text and “just” in the answer options is confusing.
That’s why I also selected option C.
How come A identifies the main idea of the passage? I found C as the answer since the passage talked more about older people and their immunity system.
Hi Dipesh,
The main idea of this passage is that a higher-dose flu shot designed especially for older people is now available.
But is not JUST for old people!
“The AARP Bulletin reports that a vaccine called Fluzone High-Dose is now available, designed especially for people aged 65 years and older”
This explains why the answer is A
